My ride to work – 03.11.11

By Ben Butterfield • Events • 3 Nov 2011

Realising I had a fair bit of time before I needed to be at work today, I thought I would take the scenic route from West London, past some of my favourite sights before finally arriving on Warren Street. Here’s how it panned out:

1. CONSTITUTION HILL

I’m not sure what this horse convoy was all about, but it prompted me to take the first picture.

2. BUCKINGHAM PALACE

I know you’ve all seen it before, but it’s hard to pass without being impressed.

3. BIRDCAGE WALK

As I passed some army barracks, I stopped to watch some of their practise.

4. BIG BEN

Imposing as always.

5. GHETTO TANK

Apparently this belongs to Aphex Twin. All I know for sure is that it is awesome and can be found at Page’s Walk SE1.

6. STRATA TOWER

As seen from The Roebuck.

7. THE ROEBUCK

One of the LFGSS favourite pubs.

8. THE OLD VIC

Apparently the play was rubbish, but I didn’t go so couldn’t really comment.

9. BFI IMAX WATERLOO

Never been here either, although I am going to change that soon!

10. WATERLOO BRIDGE

I love the views available from this bridge. You can see the almost completed Shard of Glass in the East facing picture.

11. ROYAL OPERA HOUSE

Spotted this while cutting through the back streets of Covent Garden.

12. BT TOWER

I still couldn’t get a usable data connection on O2!

THE RESULT

One dirty bike!
